How To Order On Jumia Nigeria

If you have ever wondered how to order on Jumia, pay online, or pay on delivery and get it delivered to your home address or by picking it up yourself, you have come to the right place.
To order for item on Jumia is very simple, just like in a real-life supermarket, On Jumia, you’ll first need to find the item you want, add it to your shopping cart, and then check out and make payment.
However, if you are a beginner, we got you covered with our step-by-step guide below
These are the same steps I take whenever I want to order my favorite product on Jumia
Please i want you to take note, currently, there are 3 major ways you can choose to pay for goods or services you ordered on the Jumia website or app
- JumiaPay
- Your local Mastercard, VISA, or Verve card.
- Cash on Delivery
- Lately, we also have Buy and Pay in Installments option
However, if you are skeptical about making payment online, you can simply opt to pay at delivery or pickup center
While at the point of delivery or pickup center, we have 4 major ways you can pay
- JumiaPay (Code will be generated)
- Debit/Credit (Via their POS Machine)
- Cash
- Bank Transfer (To Jumia Partner Bank)

Step By Step Guide On How To Order On Jumia
- Visit Jumia Official Website
- Login or Sign-up
- Search Your Favorite Product Item
- Select Product of Your choice
- Click On the “Add to Cart” Button
- Specify The Quantity of The Product You Want
- Click On The Cart Basket
- Tap On The Checkout Button
- Continue To Checkout To Confirm Order
- Pick Delivery Method
- Proceed to Payment Section
- Enter Voucher if you have one
- Confirm Order and Make Payment
1. Visit The Jumia Official Website
To order on Jumia, you need to first visit their website.
Please be mindful of the website you are visiting, always ensure is jumia.com.ng
If you see a variation on the URL, step back as you might have landed on a Jumia clone website
2. Login or Sign-up if You Are New To Jumia
Go to jumia.com.ng in your web browser or Jumia App and log in or sign up if you don’t have an account
Click on the Account button as shown below and select the sign in. By this, you can easily sign in with your password , passkey or Facebook account.
However, if you are new, click on the sign in button as shown above to enter your email. You will be prompted to use Passkey or simply skip and enter your desired password to create an account with Jumia.
After entering your password, you will also be requested to enter your other details including name, phone number, address etc. and then a verification code will be sent to your inbox for confirmation
3. Search Your Favorite Item On Jumia
After signing in, search for your favorite product(s) through the search bar or by simply navigating through the categories.
On the other hand, you can scroll through the home page.
In essence, the goal is searching for your favorite product(s).
4. Click on the Product of Your Choice
After searching for an item/product of your choice
Click on the product to see more details about the product.
In this case, as shown below, we have searched for “32-inch LG tv” and clicked on my favorite option to see more details about it.
5. Click On the “Add to Cart” Button
After selecting a product, you can simply click on the “add to cart” button and then click on “continue shopping” to continue with shopping or simply checkout to go next stage
6. Specify The Quantity of The Product You Want
On clicking the add to cart button, you will have the option to specify the quantity of the product you want, it can be just one, two, or more.
You can specify the quantity as shown above with the Plus or Minus button
7. Click On The Cart Basket At The Extreme Right Hand Corner
Upon adding to the cart and specifying the quantity of your choice, on the extreme right is a Cart Basket with the quantity of the item you want to buy.
8. Tap the Checkout Button
Click on “Continue Shopping” if you still want to buy more items or “Proceed to Checkout” if you are done.
The checkout page will take you to the next step
9. Continue To Checkout To See Order Summary
Once you click on the “Proceed to checkout”, you will be redirected to a summary on your cart.
You can remove, add, or simply check if the item is the only thing you want to buy
Then Click on “Proceed to Checkout” again to see the order summary and payment options
10. Pick Delivery Method Which Can To Door Step or Pickup
Pick a delivery method, and this can be either the option to pick it up yourself or get it delivered to your doorstep

11. Proceed to the Payment Section To Pick a Payment Method
On the payment section is the option for you to choose your payment method.
These payment methods can be through JumiaPay, Debit/Credit card, cand Cash on Delivery
We also have option to use FCMB or EasyBuy pay Small Small
Whichever payment method you choose, you still get your order(s).
12. Enter Voucher if you have one
Also on the payment section as shown below is a box for you to enter a voucher if you have one.
Please note that only valid coupons can score you a discount

13. Confirm the Order and Make the Payment
If satisfied with your product, you can proceed by simply clicking on the Confirm Order Button to checkout and make payment.
However, if you have picked the option to pay on delivery, then you can do so once the order gets to you.
That’s it, your item will be on its way.
Note that in most instances, Jumia will contact you by call to confirm your order.
This way, they are sure the order is not accidental and that you are fully aware
To track your product, you can check your email for a link or simply log in and go to your orders. This will enable you to see when the ordered item will be delivered.
How To Pay on Delivery
Pay on delivery for ordered Jumia goods and services can be done through JumiaPay, Cash, your ATM Card, or bank transfer
- After you have ordered your goods on Jumia, and opt-in to pay at delivery
- You will be called upon by the delivery person or asked to pick it up (depending on the one you opt-in for)
- An authentication code will be sent to you, just to ensure you are the rightful owner of the ordered item
- You will then be presented with options to pay.
- If it is a small item, you can easily pay with cash but when the amount is substantial, you might want to opt-in for other cash-on-delivery payment options
- You can pay via Jumia POS. The process is simple, just present them your ATM card and make payment or
- You can request to do a transfer to Jumia Partner bank and often once successful, it will automatically authentic payment success
- Another option is using JumiaPay. By this, a code will be generated which you will use to make payment.
Any of the payment options at the point of delivery that suit you can work, however, sometimes from my experience, the delivery guys will only present you with options that favor them.
They can tell you the only option available is either through POS or Bank transfer. However, it’s up to you to agree on to methods you want to use.
Please note that some of the delivery methods might not work, so you will need to cooperate with the delivery person to tell you the available options. Notwithstanding, I believe by now you are familiar with all the payment options
NOTE:
- Overseas items are not eligible for Pay On Delivery. Any overseas order has to be paid outrightly.
- The Value of what you are buying has to be between 3,000 Naira to 150,000 for you to qualify for Pay on Delivery. Anything below or above is not accepted
JumiaPay Terms & Conditions On Pay at Delivery
- Selected items shipped from overseas item are not eligible for Pay on Delivery
- When your total cart value is under ₦2,000, you can’t use Pay on Delivery or
- When your total cart value is above ₦150,000
- Your delivery option (some far regions, some specific pick-up stations) is not eligible for Pay On Delivery.
Any of these conditions will disqualify one from getting the option of paying on delivery
How To Use JumiaPay To Pay At Delivery
You can use JumiaPay to pay for your delivered items either by SMS or QR CODE
SMS
- Click on the link sent to your phone and log in to pay on the JumiaPay website with your registered email on Jumia or sign up to pay.
- On the JumiaPay payment confirmation page, click Pay Now
- Select Use different payment methods to add a debit card, returning customers can use the pre-registered debit card.
- Click Pay Now and Enter OTP from your bank
- Submit and your payment will be successfully processed.
QR CODE
- Open the camera app on your phone and place it on the QR Code displayed on the Delivery Agent’s delivery device.
- You will receive an instant notification (website QR CODE: Open JumiaPay)
- Click the link to log in to pay on the JumiaPay website with your registered email on Jumia or sign up to pay
- On the JumiaPay payment confirmation page, click Pay Now
- Select Use different payment methods to add a debit card, returning customers can use the pre-registered debit card.
- Click Pay Now and Enter OTP from your bank
- Submit and your payment will be successfully processed.
How To Order On Jumia Without OTP
OPT is a one-time PIN code that is valid for only one login session or transaction using a mobile phone
However, some are either skeptical or technically not inclined or simply don’t like using it
To pay on Jumia without OPT, simply opt for Cash on delivery.
